Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-07-08
The short version
No accounts. No ads. No selling data — ever. One small analytics cookie, only if you say yes — and analytics that never records your identity or your screen. What you read here is your business.
Who we are
thewarmbed.com publishes sexual health education for adults. For anything in this policy, use the contact form at the bottom of this page.
What we collect, and why
If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address — that's it. It's collected and stored through Netlify Forms (our hosting provider) and used only to send you the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe option, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.
Analytics: we use privacy-focused analytics (PostHog) to see, in aggregate, which articles are read most and roughly which countries visitors come from. IP addresses are anonymized and session recording is switched off — we never watch anyone's screen. If you accept our cookie banner, one first-party cookie lets us tell new visitors from returning ones. If you decline, the site works exactly the same and your visit is counted anonymously, with nothing stored in your browser for analytics.
If you leave a tip: payment is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own pages. We never see or store your card details. Stripe shares with us only a confirmation — the amount and the email you entered at checkout — which we use for nothing beyond saying a quiet thank-you. Tipping never adds you to a mailing list.
Hosting logs: like almost every website, our host (Netlify) keeps standard, short-lived server logs (including IP addresses) for security and operations, under Netlify's privacy policy.
What we never do
We don't sell, rent, or share your information for advertising. We run no ad networks, no third-party tracking pixels, and no cross-site tracking. We don't build profiles connecting a person to the articles they've read — our tools are chosen specifically so that such a profile can't exist.
Cookies
We use one analytics cookie, and only with your permission. On your first visit a small banner asks whether you're okay with it; decline and we set no analytics cookie at all. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser so we don't ask again. We never use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and you can use the contact form to ask what information we hold about you (for most visitors: nothing) or to have it deleted. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.
Third-party services
The site relies on three services, each with its own privacy policy: Netlify (hosting and the newsletter form), PostHog (anonymous analytics), and Stripe (tips). If you follow a link from our articles to another website, that site's own policies apply.
Adults only
This site is intended for readers 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data — for example, adding a new service — we'll update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
